How to Prep for Your Wax

Your flawless finish starts at home.

A little preparation from you helps us deliver a whole new level of smooth in the waxing suite, for a confidence boost that lasts (and lasts).

Your Pre-Wax Checklist

Before Your Wax

  • 1: Don’t Shave or Tweeze

For best results, let your hair grow out to ¼" (about the length of a grain of rice) before your reservation. Shaving or tweezing between waxes can interfere with your hair growth cycle, which means hair is more likely to get left behind.

  • 2: Avoid Excessive UV Exposure

We love the sun too, but for your safety (and comfort!), we can’t wax burnt or irritated skin. This includes both tanning beds and natural sun exposure.

  • 3: For Facial Waxing, Put a Pause on Retinol

Retinol makes skin more sensitive, so avoid using it within 7 days of your scheduled wax.

  • 4: Gently exfoliate 24-48 Hours in Advance

Exfoliating helps remove dry skin, making it easier for our Comfort Wax® to cling to your hair and properly do its job.

Your Pre-Wax Checklist

The Day of Your Wax

  • 1: Cleanse the Area

A clean slate will help our Comfort Wax® adhere to the skin.

  • 2: Avoid Oils, Lotions, and Heavy Makeup

You’ll want to avoid anything that could create a barrier between the wax and your skin, so avoid heavy oils and lotions. For facial waxing, try to avoid heavy makeup. (We’ll cleanse your skin as part of the pre-wax process, so no worries if you’re wearing a little!)

  • 3: Avoid Excessive Caffeine or Alcohol

Both can make the skin more sensitive and heighten the sensation of waxing.

  • 4: Wear Loose-Fitting Clothing

The last thing you want is tight clothing causing friction on freshly waxed skin. Wear breezy, loose-fitting clothes for comfort.
