Exfoliation Explained

Regular exfoliation is key to getting + maintaining beautifully clear, radiant skin.

What is Exfoliation?

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. It keeps our skin from looking rough, flaky and dry, so it's pretty important. And—even better—the actual act of waxing itself exfoliates the skin!

Why is Exfoliation Important?

When we don’t exfoliate, those dead skin cells can lead to an excess of oil, clogged pores, ingrown hairs and breakouts—and no one wants that!

What's the Best Way to Exfoliate?

It depends. There are a lot of ways to get your skin looking and feeling great—and our products are dermatologist-tested and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Exfoliate Your Face and Body

Try our EWC TREAT ™ Face & Body Exfoliating Gel to eliminate dry, dull skin and rejuvenate that gorgeous complexion.

How it works: Apply a thin layer on clean, dry skin. Gently massage in a circular motion until you see little bits of gel and dead skin begin to form. Then rinse well with water. Use it before and after waxing and at least 3 times a week.

Exfoliate + Treat Ingrown Hairs

For fresh, radiant skin, use our EWC TREAT™ Ingrown Hair Wipes. Formulated with powerful exfoliators, they’re gentle enough for all skin types. These wipes also contain narcissus bulb extract, which naturally helps slow hair regrowth.

Our EWC TREAT™ Ingrown Hair Serum also helps prevent ingrown hairs, and includes all-natural glycolic acid for light chemical exfoliation.

How it works: Use the wipes or serum daily to help prevent ingrown hairs, or twice a day to treat existing breakouts.

Exfoliate + Slow Hair Regrowth

Our EWC product lines include both physical and chemical exfoliants. Our EWC SLOW™ Aloe Body Wash contains jojoba beads for physical exfoliation.
After using the wash, follow with our EWC Slow Body Polish contains 100% biodegradable beads to deter ingrown hairs and bumps.
How it works: Work a small amount of the wash into a lather and massage over wet skin.

When skin is dry, apply the serum daily to help prevent ingrown hairs, or twice a day to treat existing breakouts—especially right after waxing.
